“When I grow up, I want to be an artist.”
That’s all I ever imagined.
I am trained as a graphic designer and worked in the advertising industry for ten years. I've dabbled in many art related ventures designing this and that, until finding my niche in painting. I am mainly self taught although I’ve had the good fortune of working alongside many talented artists who inspired and supported me and who continue to encourage me.
Today, I am an artist doing what I love most - creating bright carefree compositions from playful studies of the everyday. I work primarily with acrylic paints. I enjoy seminars and workshops which help develop my distinctly loose and lively style.
Wine is a big part of our weekly painting group. Every Tuesday we gather in the " Painting Shack". The night is a buzz with friends, wine, great conversation ( what's said in the shack stays in the shack ) and of course we paint a bit.
I prefer red wine when I don't have too much. My favourite right now: 2006 Gladiator Red Zin from California and as always my old time fav J. Lohr Cab Sav
Good value wines:
Secco-Bertani Valpolicella Valpantena, 2005
Trivento Tribu, 2008 Melbec
Sequoia Grove, 2004 Cab Sav
Kim's Good value wine selection: Next of Kin, Margaret River, Australian Cab Sav
When its a special occasion: Beringer Knights Valley Cab Sav, and Burrowing Owl
A Must try Californian: Mad Housewife Cab Sav.... of course I had to try it for the name and it didn't let me down.
Another one I bought just for the name is: Bitch, 2007 South Australian Grenache... you rarely go wrong with an Aussie !! A light red crowd pleaser.
